What’s New?
Queensland Touch Football is shaking things up for the 2026 Bundaberg Cup to create a fairer, more exciting competition for all players. After reviewing last year’s results – where the Open Mixed Division had just 4 teams compared to 29 in Social Mixed – the need for a better balance was clear.
The Mixed Divisions will now feature a Player Points System to ensure teams compete at the right level:
- Competitive – Division A
Teams with 10 or more Player Points will play in Division A.
- Competitive – Division B
Teams can have a maximum of 9 Player Points.
- Social – Division C
For non-competitive teams only. Players with State or National representative experience in 2024 or 2025 are ineligible.
How Points Work:
- 3 Points – Open/20s (Men/Women/Mixed) – International & State of Origin
- 2 Points – Other Divisions – International, State of Origin, QLD Rep Schools (15/18s)
- 1 Point – Open/20s – NTL’s The Championships & State Cup
This new structure is designed to foster equitable matchups, enhance player engagement, and make the Bundaberg Cup more enjoyable for everyone.
